Kitchen Project in Rhode Island – Warm and Clean
Kitchen & Pantry It was important to create two separate spaces.
The main area was designed for entertaining and as we say the “WOW’ Factor. elongated Island with lots of seating, the backdrop, pocket doors when opened like a show piece. All appliance lined up and ready to use. Lighting was a HUGE factor in the overall design of the kitchen and in the entire home. We did 12-inch cabinets on either side of the pocket doors with integrated LED lighting that can change color temperature depending on the time of day and mood of the space. All appliance is hidden and concealed creating a very symmetrical feel of the kitchen. Symmetry was particularly important to the client. He wanted the space to be bold but calming allowing the design to speak for itself. We decided to do one accent on the island and that was to introduce a different color but still consistent with the rest of the space, we placed it on the left to match the cabinetry that is under the large windows. On the backside of this white cabinets we did glass cabinets with bronze tinted glass and black matt metal frame inside each glass cabinet we have routed LED lighting to visually separate this part of the island from the rest. A 36” induction cooktop paired with a downdraft was also added to the island allowing the person who is cooking to still feel like they are part of the space. Behind this beautiful tall appliance wall, we have pantry space. The pantry was designed to have extra storage as well as 3 additional cooking modules. The first is a grill, teppanyaki panel and the induction module. We also placed an integrated hood for adequate ventilation. The whole kitchen was done in our handless generation, we used a channel, push to opens and servo drives to keep the space exceptionally clean and modern. We decided to do also do two DW one that was a full 24” and the second an 18” perfect for wine glass or any overflow when company is over.
